The Cana Vision
A place to celebrate the goodness of God.
"Cana" is 40 sprawling acres of breathtaking views being transformed into a place where visitors can experience the goodness of God during their time at the property. The fields will be adorned with the hues of various crops that await harvest and gentle gardens that provide a peaceful sanctuary where visitors can find pause, respite and renewal. We see Cana hosting families impacted by serious health challenges, boutique sized weddings, reteats, worship gatherings, single day or multi day workshops and projects where fellowship and community has a place to thrive.
The Property
Located in northeastern Washington's Stevens County, Cana dwells a short distance from the town of Kettle Falls. Nestled slightly above the high banks of Lake Roosevelt the property boasts views to the north of mountaintops in the Kootenays in SE British Columbia. Looking to the east large pastures appear layered one atop another as the land rises above the lake shores below. To the west the land is sheltered by the rolling hills of a former 5,000 acre ranch. To the south the vista consits of Pine tree forested lands making their way towards the original Kettle Falls where natives once fished before the waters of the Columbia River were raised by a dam.
Agriculture
The fertile soil and climate of this agricultural property create ideal growing conditions for aromatic lavender fields, precious saffron crocus blooms, robust garlic crops, and thriving grape vines.
These specialty crops will flourish in the well-drained soils with the abundant sunshine and moderate rainfall patterns that kiss the land.
The specific crops we have chosen to plant are not only beautiful to look at but were designed for nutrition and health benefits. These carefully selected plantings were also chosen because they are embedded into Scripture passages and help align the physical property experience with the harvest theme that is woven throughout the Bible especially in the Gospels.
Structures
Multipurpose Building
The intended welcoming building we affectionally call "the produce barn" will harmoniously blend rustic charm with modern functionality, featuring soaring timber-frame ceilings and abundant natural light streaming through strategically placed windows.
The spacious interior offers versatile gathering spaces that can host everything from community events to intimate workshops, while the state-of-the-art industrial kitchen will stand ready to transform fresh harvests into farm-to-table meals. Wide barn doors will open to create a natural flow between indoor and outdoor spaces. The commercial-grade kitchen equipment will allow for both food preparation and educational cooking demonstrations.
The barn will serve as both a hub for agricultural operations and a warm, inviting space where people can gather, learn, and break bread together in an atmosphere that celebrates both community and mryiad blessings of creation.
Tiny Houses
The inviting dwelling suites on Cana will offer overnight guests a perfect blend of comfort and style. Key features include:
-
Modern exterior combining warm wood and sleek dark metal finishes
-
Inviting front porch with intimate seating for two—perfect for morning coffee or evening reflection
-
Large windows that flood the interior with natural light while maintaining privacy
-
Private, peaceful location
Chapel
Gracefully placed on the property, this intimate chapel will beckon travelers with its silhouette against the pastoral landscape. Its simple yet elegant design will feature warm wood tones and floor-to-ceiling windows that invite natural light to dance across the sanctuary, creating an atmosphere of sacred serenity.
The chapel's welcoming presence serves as a beacon of peace, offering a sacred space where visitors can pause for quiet prayer, personal reflection, or small ceremonies such as boutique weddings and baptisms. Whether glimpsed from the road or experienced from within, this haven will embody a visible reminder of God's presence in the midst of daily life.
